Over the Creek : Penrose, Colorado

Much like the caterpillar that transforms itself into a butterfly, this shipping container started its life bringing goods from faraway lands before morphing into this beautiful creekside oasis.
This one-of-a-kind home offers not just a view of the beautiful creek but a true experience of hovering above it. The sights and sounds surrounding this destination are experienced by few. With a fully screened deck the sounds of nature can be enjoyed night and day.

As the tiny house movement has built more momentum, we’ve seen them popping up everywhere. Lately one of the most exciting collaborations has been between the tiny house and the short-term rental market. We all love a good Airbnb or VRBO but now we have the option of living out our tiny house dream even if it’s just for a weekend. This new series of Envy will feature these tiny house/vacation rental love children. We hope you like it!

Over the Creek : Penrose, Colorado

What does James want you to know about his rental home?

“The home sits on 200 acres of the family ranch and is surrounded by state land that is available for hiking, exploring, and sightseeing. Nature galore! The home is located 4 miles off the highway on a private dirt road.
We meet all guests at the gate located at the highway entrance and escort them to the home.”

What are the accommodations like?

The best way to describe the space is Five Star Glamping. The home is solar powered, and set up like a RV with no 120v outlets, but several usb ports are available for charging phones etc.
The home has a refrigerator, 2 burner stove, and a propane bbq grill for meals, as well as pots, pans, utensils, tea kettle, and French Press coffee maker. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, and spices. Please note. There is no cell service, internet, or television at this cabin.

What do others have to say about their experience?

“A true gem. Private, quiet, peaceful. If your goal is to get away from the busyness of life this is the places you are looking for. No tv, no internet, phone services barely works. It’s ideal for a couple to step away from the daily rigors of life for a moment and pause. The area is stunningly beautiful and for James and his wife to share their private piece of land is a blessing. The sound of the river was calming and relaxing while the scenery surrounding it was the perfect backdrop.” Tyler
